Vision
Nevada Covering Kids and Families will become the recognized leader in promoting health care coverage and access by:
- Facilitating statewide training on health care options;
- Developing partnerships to promote health care, education, awareness; and
- Mobilizing community partners to assist families in obtaining health care access
About Us
Nevada Covering Kids and Families is a project of the 501 (c) 3 non-profit HealthInsight. Since 1999, Nevada Covering Kids and Families has linked families and their uninsured children to health care by providing outreach and public education to not only Nevada's uninsured population, but also the community based organizations that serve them.
What Have We Done?
Since 1999, CKF and statewide coalition members and partners have provided outreach and public education to assist families with Nevada Check Up and Medicaid applications. Through these efforts the number of families who have access to well-care visits, pre-natal care, and prescriptions for illness, and other medical services increased.
According to the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy in Nevada, enrollment in Nevada Check Up increased 9% in fiscal year 2007. In addition, enrollment in Nevada Check Up reached an all time high with over 30,000 enrollees in on month in June of 2007.
